Is Your Password Safe Enough?
According to Security.org, adding just one upper case letter to an eight-character password can now be broken in 22 minutes instead of instantaneously in one second – an increase of more than 1000 percent. When using at least one upper case letter and one number, an eight-character password now would take a computer 1 hour to crack. Add another symbol and it takes eight. To make a password truly secure, even more characters or more than one uppercase letter, number or symbol can be added. The more combinations of numbers, upper case letters, and symbols that are added to a password greatly decrease the likelihood of a computer being able to hack that password because of the ridiculous amounts of combinations the computer has to guess to get your password correct. Check out this time table of how many hours it takes a bot to guess certain combinations of passwords.
